About Me

  Alec Farbman, MA LPC

My background is in transpersonal psychology and addiction treatment. It is through this work that I found a passion for supporting individuals in moving through incredibly vulnerable and life changing chapters in their lives. My approach is relational in nature, mindfulness-based and trauma-informed, supporting you in understanding how you connect to yourself and others. It is my belief that when we establish safety in a therapeutic relationship, we create a foundation from which change, healing, and growth is possible.

As both modern research and ancient healing modalities identify, we store our experiences, memories, and emotions not just in our mind but also in our bodies. I offer a blend of somatic-based therapies including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt and mindfulness-based approaches, guiding you in reconnecting to your body’s wisdom and your whole self. I work with individuals who are struggling with grief, addictions, trauma, relationship issues, anxiety, or moving through major life transitions. We are also a good fit if you are hoping to break through painful core beliefs, shame, self-doubt, or addictive patterns.

My passion for this work is inspired by my own experience and witnessing the profound growth and healing that occurs through a trusting therapeutic relationship. I am committed to this and promise to bring myself to this work with honesty and compassion.
